Contact with power lines kill worker

The best way to prevent electrocution from contact with power lines is to shut off the power. But when that isn’t possible, remind workers to use barriers and stay a safe distance away.

Joseph Janisch, 34, an employee of Highway Technologies, was working on replacing guard rails on the side of a highway. While operating a piece of construction equipment, he struck an overhead power line. He was taken to the hospital where he passed away.

He was a father of four, who was remembered as always being willing to help anyone.
