Improve transfer with frequent evaluations

Want to improve training-transfer results? If so, consider frequent evaluations of how trainees are using training in the field.

A survey of trainers shows that frequent evaluation of post-training behavioral change results in higher levels of training transfer.

This makes intuitive sense: Once you’re regularly following up, you’re demonstrating that this behavioral change is important. Trainees pick up on it – “Hey, this is important; I’ll try to use it.”

The evaluations themselves remind workers of the training: It forces trainees to recall the training and keep it top of mind.
