Rapid Learning Institute CEO hosts webinar on the future of workplace e-learning

Rapid Learning Institute CEO Stephen Meyer is hosting a free webinar entitled “Brief is Beautiful: Bite-Size Content and The New E-Learning.” Meyer will present an exciting approach to workplace training and provide practical examples of how organizations can use this approach to get results.

“To put it bluntly,” said Meyer, “most e-learning programs have seen very poor utilization and users simply don’t like them.” Despite this track record, Meyer’s webinar provides an optimistic look for the future of workplace e-learning.

“The good news is that things are changing,” insists Meyer. “We’re very close to a tipping point that will revitalize technology-enabled learning.”

The reason for optimism is an emerging model for soft-skills e-learning, which Meyer calls The New E-Learning. During the 40-minute webinar, Meyer will describe what separates this “New” strategy from the failed “Legacy” e-learning of the past.

Meyer also intends to give some very specific, prescriptive suggestions for how to deploy e-learning that will engage and develop learners – and specific suggestions on what not to do.

Over 1,000 training professionals have attended this presentation live at ASTD 2014, Learning Solutions, Training 2014 and the Masie Learning conference. This marks the first time it is being offered as a webinar.

The free webinar will be held three times during the month of July:

  • Tuesday, July 15th at 2:00 PM EST
  • Wednesday, July 23rd at 1:00 PM EST
  • Thursday, July 31st at 2:00 PM EST

Rapid Learning Institute (RLI) provides online training and talent development tools for businesses, government agencies, nonprofits and educational institutions in the areas of sales, leadership and management, human resources, employment law compliance, and workplace safety. RLI’s approach is founded on three core principles: 1) Rapid Learning. Workplace training should be delivered in short bursts – just six to 10 minutes at a time. Today’s multi-tasking workforce has neither the time nor the attention span for traditional lengthy training formats. 2) Single-Concept Learning. People learn best when training is focused on a narrow concept where learning goals are clearly defined. When training is delivered in small packets, the brain can easily absorb, remember and apply what it learns. 3) Research-Based Learning. Training is most powerful when it’s grounded in verifiable research. When learners see training as credible, they’re more likely to translate the learning into on-the-job behavior. RLI’s signature six to 10 minute modules, called Quick Takes, incorporate these three ideas into unique training programs that get results.

Based in Greater Philadelphia, RLI is an operating division of Business 21 Publishing.
