Consider asking learners to fill in as trainers from time to time. Not only will you get a break, but the experience will help lock in what they’ve learned.
In a recent study, researchers divided subjects into three groups and asked them to study for a complex text.
The first group simply studied.
In the second group, people were informed they’d be teaching the material. They were given time to prepare and then delivered a lesson to a small group of learners.
Members of the third group were also asked to prepare, but never actually taught the lesson.
In a follow-up test, the subjects who taught the lesson scored better than the other two groups. The group that only studied got the lowest score.
