By now, most of you are probably familiar with Linkedin. It’s the 13th most-visited Web site in the world, according to Google. The President of the United States used it for a virtual town meeting. It promises to be a game-changing tool for sales professionals.
If you’re like me, you recognize the potential of LinkedIn to generate referrals. But, like me, you may have felt a little overwhelmed by it. Maybe you just set up your profile, connected with some of your contacts, and promised yourself you’d figure out the rest when you had some free time.
Of course, salespeople never have free time.
So when I met with Linkedin guru Brynne Tillman a while back, I gave her a tough challenge: “You have 10 minutes. Can you teach a sales rep something about LinkedIn that will have an immediate and measurable impact on their sales?”
“You bet,” she said. “I can show them how to use Linkedin to find a great referral that they never knew was out there – and get a personal introduction.”
Okay, she didn’t do it in 10 minutes.
She did it in 8 minutes and 16 seconds.
We turned it into a Quick Take called “Referrals: Using Linkedin to Generate High-Quality Sales Leads“. Check it out. I think you’ll find it time well spent.
